We Are Looking For... The Director of Sona Compounding Pharmacy
will lead all aspects of Sona's compounding pharmacy business unit.
We are looking for an experienced manager and a leader with a
vision for the future of compounding pharmacy .
This is an exciting opportunity, as we are currently building a
brand new, state-of-the-art compounding pharmacy in Arden, NC! We
will be relocating our current compounding pharmacy to the new
location upon its completion in 2022. You would be perfect for this

look like? In collaboration with other healthcare providers, this
role will also provide clinical oversight on medications and strive
to deliver an unprecedented patient experience that exceeds
expectations and supports the patient's total well-being. This
position serves as a trusted advisor and mentor to our staff
pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, pharmacy interns, front-end
associates, and delivery drivers. The Director of Sona Compounding
Pharmacy will be responsible for maintaining compliance with all
relevant federal, state Board of Pharmacy, and PCAB policies,
programs, guidelines, and regulations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversees compounding pharmacy workflow, Standards of Practice
compliance, and Continuous Quality Improvement for both non-sterile
and sterile compounding.
- Establishes and maintains good working relationships with
physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Engages the community and helps identify strategic markets to
grow the company's presence in the compounding pharmacy
industry.
- Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local pharmacy
and compounding regulations including state board(s) of pharmacy,
USP guidelines, and FDA regulations, as well as Sona Pharmacy's
policies.
- Working professional knowledge of USP Chapters 795, 797, 800,
and other pertinent compounding USP chapter guidelines
- Face-to-face meetings with patients and/or their caregivers to
discuss specific pharmacy-related issues such as bioidentical
hormone replacement therapy, dermatologic conditions, supplement
use, pain medications, etc.
- Complies with all record-keeping requirements for controlled
substances.
- Oversees scheduling, hiring, training, and development of
staff.
- Precepts, educates, and mentors pharmacy students for both IPPE
and APPE rotations. What Will You Need to Succeed?
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy
- PharmD degree and/or residency training is preferred
- Active license to practice pharmacy in North Carolina
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead teams
- Communication skills (verbal, written, phone, face-to-face)
- Effective communication with patients, providers, and staff
members
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to handle
internal and external issues in a positive and professional
manner
- Refined project management skills including the ability to
implement new programs and processes
- Customer service oriented
- Organizational and time management skills
