CounselorSummary of role of Team: EMPATH will provide a unique
facility that render short-term treatment (23 hrs.) to facilitate
access to services and stabilization to those 18 years and above
that present with a psychiatric crisis. This position monitors
individuals in EMPATH and provides assistance to teammates in
providing safe, therapeutic interventions to individuals receiving
emergency psychiatric interventions. Typical Working Conditions/
EnvironmentWorking conditions consist of a 16-lounge bed
residential unit. Hours of operation are 24/7. The role of the MHT
is to ensure coverage is provided 24/7 despite any weather
conditions or holidays that arise. Job Duties/ResponsibilitiesThis

employment.1. Daily Staff Duties.Actively engage Consumers admitted
to EmPATH and assist them in getting their needs met while at the
facility.Assist teammates in de-escalating Consumers in crisis and
provide on-going monitoring to ensure Consumer and staff safety.
Work collaboratively with teammates to develop and implement
initial treatment plans. Promote a recovery-based approach to care
that emphasizes hope, respect, self-direction and empowerment. Use
motivational interventions to assist individuals in meeting their
goals and moving along their paths to recovery. Performs
therapeutic holds when needed to ensure the individual's safety and
the safety of others.Responds to all flags, emails, and voicemails
within 2 business days.Completes Staff Daily Duties assigned by
supervisor before the end of each shift.2. Complete all
documentation in compliance with CARF and funder
standards.Completes charting correctly as well as on time.3.
Maintaining/completing daily safety checks, property checks, and
adhering to daily scheduleCompleting safety checks when observing
clientsProperly completing property inventories and searching
belongingsFollow EMPATH schedule to give clients an effective daily
structure for optimum progress.4. Functions as a member of a
multi-disciplinary teamMust be punctual and maintain good
attendance record.Must stay awake and alert on all
shifts.Maintaining a strong line of communication with all staff to
effectively and safely provides assistance to the people we
serve.Demonstrates willingness to promote a harmonious work
environment by maintaining a positive and professional working
relationship with all staff members and supervisors.Communicates
and approaches conflict in a problem solving and professional
manner with all staff members and supervisors.Accepts additional
assignments and/or changes in assignment and/or work.COMPENSATION:
Starting salary for this position is approximately $16.22 -
$18.24/hr based on relevant experience and education.Schedule: Must
have flexible schedule. There are two 12 hr. shifts available.
Possible overnight shifts, holiday work and overtime. Regular
attendance is an essential job function. Must be punctual and
maintain good attendance record. Must stay awake and alert on all
shifts. Travel: Valid driver's license with F endorsement required.
Reliable vehicle required. This position requires utilizing a
personal dependable vehicle to conduct Center business. Picking up
clients from community locations and hospitals in personal vehicle
or company vehicle. Maintaining a dependable vehicle and certified
driver status is a condition of employment. Equipment/Technology:
Computer experience is essential. Ability to learn and utilize EMR
and create documents within the program.QUALIFICATIONS - EmPATH
Residential CounselorEducation/Knowledge:High School diploma or
equivalent or bachelor's degree with experience working with
individuals with mental illness or special populations- crisis
setting with co-occurring and dual diagnoses preferred.Preferred to
have coursework and/or experience in the areas of cultural
diversity, human development, etiology and treatment of mental
illness, alcohol and drug abuse, physical and sexual abuse,
suicide, and crisis intervention.Experience:Experience in working
with special populations including individuals with severe and
persistent mental illness, co-occurring disorders preferred.
Computer experience is helpful. Experience working in a crisis
setting is preferred. Regular attendance is an essential job
function. Physical:Ability to remain awake and alert during
shift.Possible exposure to biological hazards.Hearing of
normal/soft tones and close eye work. Valid driver's license.
Lifting up to 50 lbs. Pushing/pulling up to 150 lbs. Frequent
sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching. This
position requires certification in and adequate implementation of
verbal and physical de-escalation techniques that include a wide
range of bodily movements including but not limited to grasping,
holding another person, ability to go down on knees, running, and
walking.CPR and First Aid certification and Handle with Care
required (training provided).Required to be certified in and
adequately implement verbal de-escalation techniques.Applicants
should be able to exercise sound judgement under pressure.Clinical
staff may be required to get an F endorsement to transport clients
